I’m having a rough day.
I agreed to help someone paint based on a handshake deal. I’m not a professional painter, and I made that clear from the beginning. I spent over 12 hours there, including waiting around while he ran his store, and I repainted the same doorways three times because he kept saying they weren’t up to his standards.
By the end, he was talking about paying me around $12/hour, and after all the criticism, I told him I just couldn’t keep going. I ended up leaving without getting paid at all.
I have an important exam tomorrow, so I didn’t want to get into a huge argument or damage the relationship. I just walked away.
