Why is being an honest and good employee so bad nowadays?

Why is being a good and honest worker so hard? I work in healthcare. Tried to report very serious HIPPA violations as well as tests being ruined and sent to lab anyways. Med room not being locked and other things like my timecard being inaccurate and my hours stolen.

Finally am able to speak to HR and in the background I guess to silence me, my clean file is now being tampered with so they can fire me. And they do. But I get unemployment as their reasons to fire me and the proof does not match up.

While this is going on for the 2 months it is, I get a new job. Same clinic of sorts: urgent care. But different company. Pass everything to onboard which went quickly. No training as I already knew what to do and used the EHR they have.

Was there barely a month. Then get called into a room to be told I am being fired. I ask why. Apparently, people are so uncomfortable with me they can't speak to me to correct me but are comfortable enough to tell me all their personal business and family life information on a daily basis. I don't follow the workflow, (they don't have one, work is so light here. No EKGs, no x rays, no Phlebotomy. Nothing) Apparently I am told to do things and purposely do the opposite. (That is the farthest from the truth and never happened.) I ask why I would mess up my job when I needed one? And am told it just isn't a good fit.

Half the time I am alone. People clocking in, leaving mid day. Not even for lunch. Just to be gone and claim they are working. Taking an extra hour for lunch. Continually coming to work late. Coming into work with bags they went shopping with. I am not even kidding. Not wearing the correct uniform. Being inappropriate at work. The gossip is like high school.

I ask what I did wrong, an example. Can't be given one. I say I did not do the things my manager claims others day I did, even have witnesses. Does not matter, she hands me a letter of termination. I have months now of bills I'll never be able to catch up on. Fired 2xs in less than a 6 month period for lies both times.

Healthcare is so toxic. My head is not in a good place. With cost of living, I have started to gather boxes. Prepared I will probably lose my apartment, perhaps my car. I just got braces. And lose my healthcare again, end of this month.

I went to work on my shifts, always arrived early. They did not have to train me, meaning I could work without being shadowed and help as soon as I got out of orientation. I opened and closed this clinic. Was able to check people in if need be as I had the skills to do so, and room at the same time. There were days I was the only one in clinic. As everyone, provider included were late. But I am without a job.

It makes me so sad and scared for those who seek healthcare and have no idea how bad it is in the background. I am debating going to school for something entirely different career wise. But what? I have no idea. I just want to work and pay off my bills.
