Imagine making it all the way to a 3rd interview with 7 different panel members, and against 500 applicants for a top University in Australia.
being told “You will hear whether you were successful by the end of the week by the panel chair” (final interview was a monday)
didn’t hear anything… or have direct contact with the chair…
so you manage to find them on LINKEDIN the following Wednesday. tell them you enjoyed the process and was after an update on the selection process, or if there was a delay.
for them to reply that messaging them on linked in was UNPROFESSIONAL. they made their recommendation to the university LAST thursday. the process is closed, and that no further contact is necessary.
