Recommendations on job search

Hey guys,

I have been looking for jobs lately and made hundreds of applications with almost 10 of them ended up in interviews but no official job offer.

I graduated from English Teaching but never pursued a job in academia as I later noticed that this was not a dream for me. I have 10 years of experience in international companies and in positions such as procurement and contracting assistant and specialist (5 yrs), project assistant and manager (3 yrs), and business development manager (2 yrs). In my country, having an advanced level of English is rare but desired by employers. I do also have an IELTS Academic certificate with a score of 8.

My wife also graduated from English Teaching and worked primarily in administrative positions. She was struggling to land interviews at the beginning but recently she’s been getting quite number of calls even for different positions than her experience. She is in fact starting at an Italian company as a Procurement and SAP Operator in 2 weeks which is great and I am really proud of.

I wonder and ask for your opinions as to why would be the reasons that I’m getting only a few chances in interviews based on my background. I have seen a lot of people on LinkedIn and from my friends that changed careers continuously (from HR to sales, from customer service to banking, etc.). Even though my job history seems to have constant jumps from one to another, they are actually interlinked. Project management and business development are two layers of a program that interconnect the process as a whole for instance.

Thanks for your opinions in advance!
