Recently got offered a promotion at job with super high turnover rate (boss is terrible to work with, lots of stress and 45 hour work week, lots of deadlines and really fast paced environment that is made worse by an immature and impatient boss).
The raise they offered with the promotion was not as much as I was expecting, and I don’t believe it matches the amount of extra responsibility I’ll be taking on especially since I’ll have to work closer with my boss, which will definitely make me more anxious/stressed. I also found out that my coworker who was working in this role until last month was offered 4X the raise that I was offered. Also, because of some changes to management, the team culture (which was one of my favorite parts about this job) has also shifted and become more hostile.
At this salary, I know I’ll struggle to stay motivated or positive about my new position. However, its already one of the better paying roles in my field, and I’ll struggle to find something that pays as good, never mind a better work environment in addition to that. What should I do?
