Now Im ghosting recruiters and it feels wonderful!

For context, I have been on countless interviews over the past two years with no offers. I have a steady income at a job I’m not thrilled with but it pays the bills. So in that regard I’m not desperate like many of you who have struggled for years with unemployment like my husband. He has also been on countless interviews with no offers in the last 3 years.

That being said, the interview process has drained me to the point of being desperate. I need an end to the madness! However, I am done with entertaining companies who have no regard for time, or for jobs I know I’ll hate, or for recruiters who ghost you after foaming at the mouth during screening.

I stopped responding to companies who didn’t impress me and it completely changed my attitude on this f*cked job market. I now see the job market and recruiters as a sick game that I don’t have to play. Think of it like a “you can’t fire me, I quit“ approach to job hunting. Because it’s not YOU it’s them.

Companies are flooded with candidates so they have no incentive to treat you like you’re special, so why extend the courtesy to them? There are some good companies out there so keep going. You can tell a lot about a company through first impressions. Trust your gut and start taking your power back!

P.S. Can we start a movement to protest this joke of a job market?
