I interviewed twice for a restaurant position and got the call that I got the job on 8/7 at 11am and I was given a starting date for about 10 days later. I was told by the manager that I’d get an email with all of my forms that I’ll sign later that day. I never got it and wasn’t too worried about it. A few days passed and I heard nothing still so I gave the restaurant a call asking I speak w the manager who hired me and they said she wasn’t there but another manager would call me back later that day. I never got a call back. I call AGAIN today to try and speak to the manager who was in contact with me (via company phone so I can’t contact any other way) and they took my name and number and said when she was free today she’d give me a call back. It’s currently 8/11 and I don’t feel great about any of this. I’m completely aware it was a weekend however I’ve given them 4 days and they expect me to be out of my current job right now/putting in my two weeks by the time I start this job in now a week. I haven’t heard anything from them but they never gave off the vibe that they’d be unprofessional and ghost me. I never want to be an annoying employee ESPECIALLY since I haven’t even started but I feel like it’s unprofessional of them to not give me the resources I need to start this job while they expect me to not be working at my current job as I’m starting this new one. I’m not too sure what steps to take next if I don’t receive any sort of communication from them. I totally might just be thinking way too much about this, however I’m starting to get frustrated about the fact that I have tax/bank information to fill out as well as legal documents I need to sign, and I need to shop for the uniform as well. Any advice or reassurance would be greatly appreciated!
