Last Friday they fired something like 8 people, including several from the office. Somehow, my stupid ass is still here, I'm told it's because I show up and work every day, even though I'm at the bottom of the hierarchy and my work is mostly grinding at a few repetitive projects these days.
This has been a thing since I started: lots of people don't last, neither on the office side or the labor side (drivers, plant workers). Two drivers were in that latter purge, one for failing a drug test and the other for driving to several dozen stops and doing nothing.
They hired and fired 2 C-suite people within less than 3 months.
We've gone through something like 5 HR people in that same amount of time.
They hired and fired 2 admins/customer service reps in that time, and this purge got rid of our extra dispatch people (who seemed to be doing fine? Though apparently one lied about his qualifications).
Meanwhile also kicking out a janitor who's been there almost as long as I have, and the head of customer service, whom we all loved and had been there 5y, but apparently butted heads with the owner a lot.
Meanwhile I never got a follow-up on my annual review because HR either did nothing, or left. It was already delayed because they fired the office manager who was supposed to oversee it.
I feel a twisted sense of loyalty to this place, and the value I seem to bring lately is mainly company-specific. I don't know if I even could look elsewhere and get similar pay.
Guess I'm looking for validation, advice, whatever.
