In Asian countries layoff are rare or bare minimum. Employers are also loyal to their employees in comparison. Even Asian companies doing business in America somewhat follow the same culture when it comes to layoffs. But in contrast American culture is use and throw even when it comes to humans. People may work 10-20-30 years and get laid off in a day on a text.
If a business is dying one can understand. But even conglomerate and billions of dollar companies lay people off like throwing a trash paper in trash can. Why is European labor laws so protective but American laws almost nothing to protect. Even severance is left at mercy. Peoples whole life gets uprooted. Health insurance, families, homes, livelihood and sudden and unexpected pain to look for a new job, it is like a catastrophe. Something is wrong with America.
