Layoff announcements on Linkedin

I was just wondering, when people get laid off at a company, do they have to do a 4 paragraph long post on LinkedIn? It just seems like this is the thing to do now when people get laid off. They go out of their way to say what a great experience it has been and how great their co-workers and mentors have been. And how they can't wait to start the next chapter in their lives. Why are they so positive? Who is this for exactly? Do companies look at this when recruiting a potential employee? When I got laid off, I was mad as hell and hoped the company burned to the ground. The last thing I wanted to do was write a positive LinkedIn post and say how everything is great now that I'm Open To Work.
