Keep in mind this sub is advice from people struggling the most

Not trying to be negative, but I think people should take advice on this sub with a grain of salt.

A lot of the posts and comments here are coming from people who are really struggling to find jobs — which is totally valid — but it also means you’re often hearing from one end of the spectrum. If you read this sub too much, it can start to feel like everyone is unemployed for 12–18+ months, sending hundreds of applications with zero luck.

That’s not the average experience.

There are people here who’ve been searching that long, but they’re not necessarily representative of most job seekers. The people who land roles in a few weeks or a couple months usually aren’t posting about it as much.

It also feels like there are way more doomer posts than actual actionable advice. A lot of “the market is impossible,” “no one is hiring,” etc., without much discussion of what’s actually working right now.

By all means, use this sub for tips, but don’t let it completely shape your expectations or mindset. There’s a difference between being realistic and getting pulled into a negative feedback loop.

Would love to see more posts about what is working — resumes that got callbacks, outreach strategies, interview prep, anything practical.

Just my 2 cents.
