Just got laid off (4th year in a row)

This past Tuesday my manager messaged me asking if I could meet at 9. He saw that I had another meeting and he told me to cancel and let my meeting with him take priority. I just knew it was bad news, I couldn't focus after his message and kept thinking "It's a layoff, I know it is. It's happening again." As soon as he mentioned HR would be the one calling, my fate was sealed. My heart sank immediately. "It's never easy to say this but..."

The one thing that makes this so much worse is that the layoff was effective immediately, the moment after I got off the call. I didn't even get to say goodbye to my coworkers, they just immediately stripped me of my access.

On top of that, I got the rest of my pay THAT SAME DAY. I saw on the packaging that they paid for overnight shipping so I could have my check after my meeting. I saw on the envelope that they sent it out on Monday. This had to be something thats been planned out for weeks. I've only been here 7 months.

I saw the low volume and a week prior my coworker asked my manager if the company was in good health and what not because she was concerned about the volume. He straight up lied to our faces that we were fine, everything looked good and healthy. I know that's business, but its such bullshit.

4 years in a row I'm laid off for the same reason, low volume. I work in support for all who are wondering. When I start working at a new company, there's always work in the beginning, but then 6 months go by and I see there's not that many tickets coming in and I see that as my sign to start applying elsewhere because a layoff will be coming. It's not a matter of if, but when. I tend to never make it past the 1 year mark. The longest of the 4 was 1 year, 6 months.

When I saw the volume decreasing, I started applying for jobs casually, I even had some interviews. I did my best to prep for this, but my fucking goodness, why is it so bad out here?

I'm honestly tired of this shit. The market isnt the best either. At least I'm able to get interviews. I hope I'll get lucky and not have to be unemployed to long. Wish me luck in my job search. If you're searching, I hope you find something soon as well.
