I started at this almost 20 year old company about 6 months ago as a receptionist. Everything is going well; got excellent marks on my 6 month review, get along great with management and my coworkers, love my job.
We are a luxury pet boarding facility.
Today at a company wide meeting, our owner announced that they are selling the business and it should be final sometime within the next two weeks. The new company, pet resort hospitality group, will be here Wednesday to answer any questions.
There were tears and I think most of us were shocked. My coworkers are young and know nothing of this company nor how p.e. typically runs things. The owner seems to think this is a great opportunity. The owner also couldn't answer any of our questions (like will payroll be affected) but let us know about what she negotiated for and got (like still being able to order food wholesale and boarding her dogs for a discount).
I am at a loss for words. I really like my job but knowing how much it will fundamentally change for us, our clients, and their dogs makes me very worried.
What questions would you ask? What would your next steps be? Any advice is accepted. Thank you.
