I applied for a job at a company where evidentially the boss knows my boss. I checked off no on the application when it asked “can we contact your current employer?”. I turned down the job offer because it wasn’t as it was described in the posting. Somehow through hearsay or what have you they told my employer I interviewed with them then turned them down. My employer wasn’t mad but he called me seeing if there was anything he could do and if I was unhappy with him etc. He said I was a good employee and that he’s happy I’m staying with him.
Do you think I should be worried about him having doubts about my happiness with his company. Also I feel like an asshole for applying for another job without telling him first but the benefits were too tempting to not try.
