Just got laid off for a second time this year. I work in IT specifically in technical support.
There has been a crazy shift for all companies to use AI, train it, and now they want to reduce the work for.
Middle management is safe for now but they are getting rid of good talent since AI can replace them and overseas can also make it more competitive when someone from a 3rd world can do the work for more than half the cost.
Anyways I'm seriously considering blue collar work. The WFH Era was great, but here we are getting spit on and replaced. I don't see a good future for a lot of IT jobs. Might be time to get out while I can.
