I got called into my bosses office today as he said he had to talk to me as I've taken over 5 sick days. We technically get 5 days plus 5 extras with occurrences before anything happens. He said it was mostly a formality but that I should consider FMLA next year if I think I will go over 5 again to not "look bad in the future"??
Now I'm torn as I feel that taking official FMLA is overkill for that, but his comments worry me.
For reference I work in healthcare and have a 3 year old in daycare who gets us sick a lot, but I legitimately only have called in sick when I personally was feeling horrible and unable to do my job and not wanting to get frail patients sick too..
Is 8 days really abnormal that will look bad on future review if I ever want promotions?
