Hi friends,
I am interviewing for a state position tomorrow and I am super nervous. I am trying not to panic, so I figured I would reach out to see if anyone has any tips.
The HR manager at the facility sent over the job specifications on Thursday and let me know to take my time answering and to demonstrate my familiarity with the position. I feel prepared, I have been reviewing questions online that could be asked, but I am also really scared that I am going to mess it up. It would pay $10,000 more per year, starting, than I am making now, and would provide a lot of benefits.
For some context, my current position has made my life really hard, and I don’t want to be miserable anymore. My Mental Health has never been worse.
My manager’s version of “delegation” is sending me all of the work she is supposed to be doing, and has effectively lied to my Big Boss about what my actual job responsibilities are. As a result, I am doing the work of two paralegals, and am being paid like an administrative assistant. The attorney I work for has allowed her to do this for about 30 years now, and I cannot do it anymore. The disrespect makes me dread going to work, and the workload is suffocating.
Any advice would help. I just feel really alone right now and could use some encouragement.
Thank you in advance <3
