I will try not to make this too long so I will summarize most of it. For reference, I am 20 years old (male), and I decided right after high school that I would work at an HVAC company. I only picked this job because my stepdad at the time told me about it and it seemed like a stable job, and at the time I just wanted to have a good stable career. I did a year of community college while I waited tables, but had to drop out to help my mother pay bills at the house. Because of that I picked up a second job waiting tables. I was a server for almost 3 years, and during that time I could not for the life of me find an HVAC job that would hire with no experience. In 2025, around June, one of my good friends gave me word that his uncle (who owns an HVAC business), would hire me and train me. I have been working there since then, but due to the business being slow this time of year, my boss had me take off about a month, and then my first week back after that break, I burned my hand really bad with freon, and couldn't work for another month. I think that time off made me used to not working there, because when I came back I came to the idea that I absolutely hate this fucking job. I hate my boss and my coworkers. They are rude and immature and just not fun to be around. My supervisor is always late to work he just shows up when he wants. After telling me the night before to be there at 9am, he shows up at 3pm. Because of that we will be there until 10pm, and then I have to drive usually 45 minutes to an hour home (sometimes even more). I hate working with them and I hate the work that we do. If it was up to me I would just never show up again and say screw you. But I can't because my boss is my friends uncle; one of my closest friends. Obviously I can quit if I want to I know that, but I don't want to until I have found a new job, but I have no clue what job I should get. At this point, I feel desperate enough to go back to waiting tables or just joining the military.
The other part of my problem is that I want to be a Youtuber. I have been playing video games my entire life and I've just recently started uploading videos, and I actually like it. I am not the kind of person to quit my job and start Youtube full time this early, so I would like a job in the meantime. However, I have no college degree or any achievements beyond graduating high school. This problem has been tearing at me and I dont really have anyone to talk to about this that won't turn it into a lecture and tell me to keep my current job. If anyone has an idea of some jobs that don't require experience, or just any kind of advice I would be so thankful. Neither of my parents would even listen to me about this, so this is the only thing I can think of. Thank you.
