There is so much performative bullshit in the corporate world it's honestly tiring. Every time you go in for a job interview you have to give a whole spiel about how you want to "grow with the company" and "bring your skills to the team" and the hiring manager knows it's all bs. I wish you could just be honest and say "I want to make money. I'm not here to grow with the company or be part of a work family or be a loyal servant who will never leave you. I just want to do my tasks, get a paycheck, and go home." I mean let's be honest, why do they want to hire you? To make money! So why can't you throw it right back at them?
