I've been rejected time and time again and can't find a source of income. I have three years of culinary classes and Food Handler's + Food Manager's certs under my belt and can't even land a job at Dominoes. The last job I had was the most stressful thing I've ever experienced; constant flood of people, middle aged white guy yelling at me to shove my hand in the oven to grab the pizza instead of using the giant spatula because it's "too slow," an Australian guy spitting out 4 zyns while he's working the line, being spoken to in Spanish by the prep cook and having no one to translate, doing tons of guesswork all for $14/hr. I had a lady complain that there was sauce on her pizza. I'm serious. She was so extremely upset that there was sauce on her pizza. I applied for a place that my 16 year old sister worked at and got rejected because I don't have a TABC. My sister also did not have a TABC because, surprise, she was 16 at the time. I apply for 10 places on Indeed and only two get back to me, and one of them doesn't even have a store yet, and I'd have to make an hour long commute until the actual store opens. The responses I do get when I apply directly on websites are either an email telling me I "didn't make the cut" without an explanation, or none at all. I have $150 to my name, Food Handler's and Food Manager's certs, some experience in cyber security and IT, and a smart phone. Realistically, what can I actually do differently to get myself working? Do I invest in a shitty laptop and start looking for remote work? Any help, insight, or funny stories similar to the lady upset at sauce being on her pizza are appreciated.
