I laid myself off from a ridiculously unpleasant and unorganized company

So I really needed this job and I only lasted 3 months. From the very beginning I should’ve known that it would be a dumpster fire of a job. After my first screening with the recruiter I got the second round interview scheduled. That scheduled interview got urgently pushed up, they asked if I could take the interview within that same day, on the phone. I would then get dialed in, disconnected, dialed in a few times until I spoke briefly with my potential supervisor who asked me if I knew certain programs, and then asked when I could start…he asked if I could start tomorrow. Of course I said yes. But that turned into another interview with him and he brought in the CEO. Who asked questions and implied that they would follow up with an offer. Long story short, the company felt like a startup from day one. Leadership seemed to always be putting out fires, zero structure, I was fulfilling urgent marketing requests, their website needed so much basic restructuring, every piece of marketing collateral was riddled with errors, nobody knew who had social media account access, leadership was never around for direction or feedback. I was tempted to leave so many times. But after the final straw of HR telling me that my current workload “isn’t that heavy”, I quit. And they didn’t even notice I stopped showing up after 3 days! Unprofessional, sure. But it is what it is. Lesson: don’t ignore obvious RED FLAGS!
