I work a job that I am way overqualified for, but knowing this horrible job market, I have no where else to go.
In the time I have been here (8 months), he has promoted 6 people who have started around the same time or a little later than me, to clinical site leads. I have no interest in managing teams or projects and am more interested in research analysis. I have asked him for opportunities to shadow the analysis process, but his only response was that a third-party company does that and to make myself more visible to our clients, without giving me any solid recommendations on how to do so. This has happened a few times now and at this point, I’ve given up on asking and showing interest in the company.
I would’ve appreciated any insights, instead of the generic ass thank-you’s I get every time I leave work. It’s such a horrible job market out here. I took this job thinking I could work my way up, but despite the work I do and how much I help out, I feel invisible and taken for granted.
