I graduated with my masters degree back in 2024. I thought I had made it, I’d done things I didn’t think I could do. I was in university for 8 years, 6 in my specialization.
2 years later and I have practically nothing to show for it. I’ve done everything I can think of, tailored my resume, updated my linkedin, reached out to recruiters and employees in the field I want to work in, I even got a career coach. Her advice is all the same as what everyone in my family is saying. “Do it the old fashioned way, send your resume via mail, reach out to people.” And etc. she doesn’t understand how things work now and I was left feeling so stuck. I’ve tried reaching out and it goes nowhere. I can’t ever land an interview despite my extensive experience. I’ve reached out to pretty much everyone I can think of in my network, and none of them have anything for me. My partner left me because I couldn’t find anything better than my current job, claimed I “wasn’t trying hard enough.” And clearly that I didn’t care.
Can anybody toast me, please? My confidence is in the gutter. I don’t know how I’m supposed to sell myself to these companies when I’ve never felt worse in my life.
