How to ask for a therapy accommodation professionally at a new job?

I’ve been at my current company for my whole career and in my current role the last four years. Today, I got a verbal job offer and letter sent with the formal offer at a new company. It’s a huge pay raise and I’m excited.

There is just one thing. I have OCD. I have it under pretty good control thanks to a combination of medication and therapy, but I still have it.

Right now, I work hybrid. New role will be 100% in person. In my current role, I have therapy via telehealth every other Monday. I use it as my lunch break. My boss is aware, but since it’s WFH and during my lunch it doesn’t interfere. I just mark myself busy, and if I ever have a work obligation on a therapy day during that time, I simply reschedule.

My new job will be fully in person in a very shared space. While I am pretty high functioning now, I am not well enough to fully quit going to therapy.

How can I professionally ask for an accommodation? I don’t want my new boss to think I’m crazy or can’t handle myself, but I do need it. My therapist’s hours are from 8-4, so I’m thinking of asking her if I can start going at 8 and both starting and ending late that day…but, again, how can I professionally ask as a new hire?

Edit: not sure why this is being downvoted so much. I don’t think it’s that ridiculous of a question—I’m sure a lot of people need this.
