I started this job recently, and while it’s very laid back and easy compared to other places I’ve worked, I always feel like it takes forever for me to feel comfortable or confident enough to do things.
For example, I’ve already been told or shown how certain tasks work, yet when I go to do them, I hesitate, or feel like I’m doing something I’m not supposed to, when I was just told how to do it, and this job is pretty independent too, everyone is just doing their own thing.
It always takes me a couple months to stop doing that, or constantly going to my supervisor or trainer for permission to get new supplies, or double checking if I’m allowed to do this or that. Being new is always the worst and very anxiety inducing, I was curious if anyone could relate, and to the more experienced people at their jobs who have new hires like me, are you okay with it and understand? I guess everyone starts off like that though.
