I have no idea how I'm supposed to get a job that is supposed to support a family.
Go to the bottom for tl:dr
I am 20 and I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm determined to get a job and keep it except this similar problem keeps happening and I don't know how to stop it.
I will provide 3 stories about how companies cutting corners is fucking over people's life's.
My girlfriend is working a coffee shop job and is going to school, she wakes up at 4 am to wake up and get there early so she can open. She does her job and goes to school to do homework and sleep, I don't see her much because she is busy and we live together. Now where this story gets interesting is that one of her new coworkers just got hired and on the first day she asked my girlfriend who is 3rd generation American Mexican, if her dad is in jail, and if her life is hard with gang violence. My girlfriend was obviously shocked and didn't reply. She kept on asking stereotypical questions and just sitting there on her phone not working. My girlfriend told her to do her job and stop asking her questions and ignored her the rest of the day while doing her job.
Unfortunately because of that this new girl is a friend of the owner and complained that my girlfriend was being mean and ignoring her. This girl ended up getting a couple coworkers almost all the managers and the owners to be on "her" side and when my girlfriend talked to management about racist stereotypes being tossed around she got told to show up to work unpaid to talk with this coworker and my girlfriend got written up for not being nice to her while working.
She is looking for a new job
My friend is working a cleaning job and this guy told management that she isn't working and is on her phone, she isn't and is taking other people's shifts to get away from her abusive parents. She is definitely the hardest worker there, and some guy who is working there longer than she is had a better word of mouth. There was other things that happened that I won't be putting in this paragraph
She just got fired tonight.
Now I have a job where I clean, I saw this as a forever job simple janitorial, paid better than most places out of highschool, even though I did autobody and construction in my technical highschool other places can't hire me due to experience. Anyways I was working a contract and the people there loved me, a new manager who got rehired removed me due to me putting the wrong white bags in the trashcan, something I wasn't trained on. My coworkers tried to keep me on. He also was kind of perverted and thought I said something inappropriate and didn't.
My new location I was late to because I was buying a car so I can make it to work, the manager who is extremely nice and was leaving (to take care of her mom, but also I had a hint of she was running the company and bad business practices) she was understanding and brought me to work even though I was an hour late my new coworkers sat and watched tiktok while I cleaned, I was frustrated and asked them why they didn't start cleaning another section, they laughed at me and one of them said just be glad we aren't getting you into more trouble. I bought them pizza out of guilt
The next workday the manager who I haven't had a decent first impression showed up and sat me down and said that I was violently throwing stuff around and that I was in peoples faces. I was shocked and I told him that it was fine that I was late and people were a little irritated but management said it was fine and I even got pizza
4 weeks later and some new people getting put on this contract all tried to get me to say stuff like what I didn't like about my managers or mistakes I've made and I knew I had to answer or I was going to have it worse but if I did it was aweful, so I said something constructive like, I like how friendly they are I just wish they communicated better, or I didn't have a good first impression but I know he was put in this position for a reason
I got sat down again and got told stories about things I said, blown out of proportion from each of the coworkers.
They had me not working for 2 weeks and now I work 6 hours past pay period. Thank god for social security disability money.
How do I find a job if every one I go into has a situation like this
Sorry that last one was long
Tl:dr coworkers who know the managers and owners better are keeping clicks and accusing people of stuff to get them fired, it's impossible to find a stable job because of this
