How Do I Get This Job Without Being a Creep?

Hi Reddit, I need your advice.

I just applied to a job at a mid-sized company, not huge but you’ve probably heard of them. It’s a job in the creative department, and I’m very well-qualified, if not a little overqualified.

After submitting the application, I looked up the company on LinkedIn, and requested to connect with and sent a brief message to: a recruiter; the manager of that specific team (we share a connection); and a member of that team (we share multiple connections, and went to the same school, so I’m jazzed to connect with them anyway).

I also did a very lazy Google, and was able to find the team manager’s company email address - this is the same manager I already sent a connect request to on LI.

Do I send them an email directly? A little intro with my resume and CL attached?

Nothing too pushy. Just like a “Hi, HumanName, I applied to blahblah, and saw your information. My name is Blahblah. I’ve blahblahed for blahblah years. Here’s my resume and CL, to view when you have a moment. I hope to speak with you soon. Sincerely, Blahblah O’Blahblahblah.”

I worry about crossing boundaries, I don’t want anyone to feel like they’ve been stalked down. At the same time, this is likely a position that will receive a lot of interest, and I want to be a little loud and make sure people are seeing my app.

I want this job. Frankly, I need this job. And I truly am a perfect fit for the role, and would be able to join on relatively seamlessly.

What would you do, Reddit? Would you email the manager? What would you say?
