Is it just me or are there way too many managers who are wildly unprofessional?
I’m not even talking about “not great leaders”, I mean straight up losing their temper and talking down to people.
When I was a co-op, I had a manager who would literally yell at people in the middle of the office. Everyone was too scared to say anything, so no one did. I thought it was just a one-off situation…
But since working full-time, I’ve come across VPs who act the exact same way! Yelling at people under them when they don’t understand something or dislike something, instead of just asking questions or holding meetings to get to consensus.
How are people like this able to keep their jobs with that kind of temper-tantrum behaviour?
