Long story short I’ve been working at a job that aligns with my college degree. They only need me part time and I do some side jobs every so often but really needed more consistent income. Full time career focused jobs are extremely rare in the city I live in. So my best bet was finding a second job. I took a second job that is mostly weekends, however it does conflict with two hours of my regularly scheduled job. All of the office work I do is internal and not public facing, so it isn’t like if I’m not there they are left shorthanded. I told my manager about the second job and asked if they’d like for me to come in and make up the two hours a different day that week and I was told- “you’re fired this is non-negotiable, we need someone who can work more than you’re working right now”. But I don’t have much work to do and they don’t even need me near as much as they say they do…. I am at such a loss right now and I don’t know how I’ll make ends meet. I feel like I’m being punished for trying to put food on the table. I’m already down to 110 pounds and I can’t cut my grocery bill any further. I often eat junk food just to keep my weight up. To make things worse I told my family and they said “stop crying you have to get over this”. I spend every single day alone and I just feel so isolated and worthless.
