So today, unexpectedly an HR rep shows up during my manager's call. I was given a written warning for "quality of work" and "not responding in a timely manner to me per company policy". It honestly kind of shocked me because for how distant my manager is I didn't expect him to write me up for an issue. I expected him to come talk to me first about it and what we could do to correct it but nope, just straight to HR.
He is completely unorganized and throws work at me and gets upset when he's about to miss the deadline and asks why an assignment from 3 weeks ago has an issue when he needs to submit tomorrow. Anyways, I feel very distant and singled out at work so this write up really hurt me. I feel like they are making an excuse to let go of me?
Anyways, in the "memorandum" I am expected to check in with my manager on a regular basis and anything "more than 30 min away from my desk I must let my manager know". and "I am expected to respond to any message within 1 hour of when it was sent". How do I handle this? It seems extremely micro managerial.
