I was 9 months unemployed before I finally landed this position after 400+ applications and 20+ interviews!
I got fired from my previous role underperformance which really suck because I was there for so long(7+ years) and when the new managers came in I couldn’t meet their expectations (learned that the person mostly responsible for my firing got fired 4 months after me 🤷♂️).
It really sucked these past months because I felt like I sucked at my career in analytics because i would get ghosted/rejected for jobs I thought I was qualified for, not getting past recruiter rounds, and if I do I would fumble in technical stage or talking to hiring managers. I am terrible at interviewing.
But I finally did well in the interview process with this company because I got better at using STAR examples from my previous workplace to better sell my skills. Also they said me sending thank you notes with things I talk about with each person and that really put me over the edge over other candidates as they didn’t send one or used AI to write for them.
I gotta say those who are still unemployed don’t give up! This whole interview process is pretty a sales pitch and all it takes is one company to give you a chance.
