I just want to share something that has been on my mind for a long time.
Nowadays, almost every company asks for 3, 5, or even 10 years of experience, but when you look at the salary being offered, it's often only AED 2,500–3,000.
I'm 25 years old, and I recently got my UAE Heavy Truck Driving License. I went for an interview last month, hoping to start my career as a truck driver. Unfortunately, I was told that they only hire drivers with at least 5 years of experience.
I politely asked them, "How can I gain experience if no one is willing to give me a chance? Give me an opportunity. Even if you pay me a lower salary for the first 5 or 6 months, I will work hard, learn quickly, and prove myself."
Everyone started with zero experience at some point. Every experienced driver was once a beginner. If companies never hire beginners, then where are new drivers supposed to gain experience?
I've also applied for truck driving jobs in other countries, but the answer is almost always the same: "Experience required."
Yes, I could create fake experience documents like some people do, but I don't want to start my career with dishonesty. I would rather earn my experience through hard work and dedication.
If anyone here knows of a company that is willing to give a new truck driver an opportunity, I would truly appreciate your help. I am ready to learn, work hard, and prove myself.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my post. I sincerely appreciate any advice, referrals, or support.
