I went through a job interview recently and at the end of the interview, I was thanked for my military service. Two weeks later got an email about not getting the job but thanked for my military service again. Not a lot of things really bother me, but this did. Maybe I got my hopes up too high, especially how nice they were to me and saying thanks to my service. Now I feel like it was just a back handed compliment and maybe their thought process was to gently let me down. I'm really bothered by this; I feel like the kindness was empty and the actions scream, "go f*** yourself." Thank you for reading my rant.
