This is my first job ever and first time being a delivery driver, trying to make some college money. They sent me to a big rich person neighborhood, and the house i needed was in a cul-de-sac, but the only road going there was closed off. I texted and apologized for the delay, but they told me another route to take.
I had no idea where tf that was so I just decided to hop out and walk. And these people have big ass golf courses so i had to walk all the way through those, and any short cuts I could have taken were all cut off by little rivers. It's hot asf outside, I have asthma, struggling to breathe from all that running. This was a long fucking walk I would have just been better off trying to find the other way. But I eventually get there, drop the food off, walk back and go back to work.
I thought I did good, but someone calls and I hear my manager say "sorry they're new, we'll remake that for you" huh? What did I do?? And then when I clocked out, I saw they texted me asking if I was coming. I did all of that just to bring it to the wrong fucking house. I could have sworn the GPS had the right one. I texted them back apologizing profusely and telling them that someone else should be taking care of their order right now. But yeah just wanted to vent bc I feel stupid and embarrassed. My manager was already stressed and in a bad mood before that phone call, I'm lowkey scared of getting fired.
